My Yarn Fetching Cat

I have been trying for so long to catch my cat Peanut on tape fetching me yarn. I swear I have no idea where she digs half of it up but she bring me at least one ball a night. I caught her on tape tonight!!!! I thought I would share this clip of her. :)

Everything happens for a reason

We had our cat Muddy spayed yesterday and she is home with us today. Originally when we got her we were pretty much poor and couldn't afford to get her fixed. We didn't really see this as a problem because our other two cats are fixed and she isn't an outdoor cat. Well every year she'd go into heat and it was bothersome but this year she was just crazy. What made me finally make the decision to get her fixed was last month she sat in front of me while I was on the computer... she lifted up her tail and sprayed me. Ya. That will do it.

So we took her in. Thank God we did. It turns out my little girl had the beginning of Pyometra. The vet showed me with his fingers how large her uterus had become and told me it was filled with fluid. It is virtually impossible to detect in the early stages and it's only when it progresses that she would have actually shown signs and then it's harder to treat. She could have died.

It's like everything happens for a reason. If she hadn't sprayed me in the face that day I would have never taken her in to the vet and we wouldn't have known she was ill until much later when she would have been really sick.

She is so happy to be home and the other furbabies are glad to have her back too.

As a Canadian, my opinion doesn't really count... but from everyone I know of around here we are all celebrating with the American's today!!! Under George Bush, I think a lot of us lost faith in the greatness that is usually associated with the US and the election yesterday just restored that. I don't care what side you were rooting for... you cannot deny the importance of this election. I can actually say I was around to watch the first black person become president of the United States. Amazing.

I don't think I have ever cried so much watching CNN. I hope this man turns out to be as Amazing as I think he may be.

update on the bird

You're all going to be sick of birds by the time I'm done. LOL

I went out on my deck tonight to water the plants and took the three furballs with me. I simply just walked out and I hear a loud thud and guess who was sitting there giving me the evil eye on the garage right next to my deck?

So I am starting to think that this bird is stalking me.

I go inside and get some bread and my camera. I take a few photos and throw some bread on my shed roof to try and make nice with the big scary bird and then he flies off.

So I run to the front to see if I can see where he's landed and to take a picture.

EEEK!

I round the corner and guess who is sitting on my front porch?

The baby version of the big scary stalker bird!!!

It's still huge but not as big as the stalker.

And then my neighbor from across the street comes out and tells me the story of the big scary bird family.

Apparently there is a nest in the tree in front of my house... which explains why big scary daddy bird was not so happy with me taking pictures of him in the tree. Little... yet big... scary baby bird fell out of his nest *awwwwwwwwwww* and his protective parents have been keeping him alive by protecting and feeding him. My neighbor said he is now starting to fly a little.

She said she was told that it was a falcon. Then my other neighbor called out, "no... that's a hawk."

Ya, ok... so that clears that up. So here is a nice clear picture of the big scary baby bird.

So what should we decide on? Falcon or Hawk?

Actually he/she is quite cute and I hope it doesn't get killed. And now I understand why those birds are giving me the evil eye.

No more playing outside for the kitties for a while.

Ok... bunnykissd and ivorygrace7 I am counting on you.

We have this big freakin' bird hanging out in the neighborhood this summer. It was sitting on a branch in front of our house yesterday so I took a few photos. Let me just tell you that he wasn't very pleased with me taking his photo.

Anyway... what the heck is this thing? I have never seen anything like it. Is it a little hawk or something?

See how he is glaring at me? He did not like me at all.

After spotting me, he shook his feathers a bit

Realizing I wasn't going to go away, he hopped up to a higher branch and gave me the look of death

I wish that one had come out clearer. He has a pattern on his tummy. Spots or some other kind of pattern.

A virtual *hug* to the first person who can identify that bird!
